Card Making Classes

You never stop learning with card making!

New products and techniques are being created all the time.

And some of us crafters are prone to going off at a tangent!  One creative idea can lead to another that needs new skills.  And new supplies!  ;)

Over this past year I've focused on learning water and pencil colouring and have used online courses to expand my knowledge.

I'm a fan of online card making classes as it gives you the flexibility to learn at your own pace.

In between all the other things you have to juggle in your life!

The providers listed all offer classes at affordable prices....

Altenew

Altenew has a fantastic array of online card making classes - at a reasonable price!

Cost is usually $8.95 (£6.92) a course with discounts on bundles.

They cover every aspect of card making and are presented by expert instructors.

New classes are added every month so you can update your skills to latest trends and techniques.

The courses use Altenew products but it's easy to apply the information to your own products.

You pay for each class individually (apart from bundles) and the course is added to your online profile.

Online Card Classes

Jennifer MacGuire and Kristina Warner are the inspiration behind Online Card Classes.

It features 46 classes covering most aspects of card making including clean and simple cards, holiday cards and card making techniques.

The classes vary in length and this is reflected in the price.  They are presented in online videos with detailed accompanying notes for printing.

Jennifer and Kristina present most of the videos with guest appearances from other well known card markers.

There are also courses led by Tim Holtz, Dawn Woleslagle, Sandy Allnock and Kathy Racoosin.

For some of the older classes the stamps used are no longer available but the information is still valid and relevant to card makers today.  Just apply to techniques to whatever stamps you own.

You pay for each class separately and the courses are retained in your online profile.

Kit and Clowder

Kit and Clowder offer online colouring classes in both pencil and alcohol markers with the inclusion of a digital stamp for each project.

There is a monthly subscription for online classes and they offer some classes for free.

I am currently trialing a free class and I'm impressed by the level of information.  You receive a detailed step by step booklet that lists the colour alternatives for different brands of coloured pencils and markers.  The video s give clean and detailed instructions.

If you are interesting in colouring do try the free classes to see if their format is for you.

Craftsy

Craftsy is back after a brief incarnation as Bluprint.  It covers a wide variety of crafts from Quilting to Cake Decorating!

Card Making is found in the Paper Craft section though some card makers may also be interested in the Painting and Drawing sections.

The video courses are presented by expert instructors such as Shari Carroll and Catherine Pooler.

Craftsy has a membership option that gives you access to it's complete library of classes.  Great if you are interested in a number of crafts.

Alternatively, each class can be purchased separately and retained in your account.

Some groups might be listed in more than one section.
